How to screenshot on Chromebook

To take a screenshot on a Chromebook, you have a couple of options:

  1. Capture the full screen: Press the Ctrl and Show windows (or F5) keys simultaneously. The Show windows key is typically located in the top row of your keyboard, between the Full Screen and Brightness Down keys. This will capture the entire screen and save it to your Downloads folder.

  2. Capture a specific area: Press the Ctrl, Shift, and Show windows keys simultaneously. With this keyboard shortcut, your cursor will change to a crosshair. Click and drag to select the area you want to capture. Once you release the mouse button, the screenshot will be saved to your Downloads folder.

  3. Capture the active window: Press the Ctrl, Alt, and Show windows keys simultaneously. The Show windows key is the same as in the previous methods. This will capture only the active window and save it to your Downloads folder.

After taking a screenshot, you can access it by going to the Files app on your Chromebook and opening the Downloads folder. From there, you can rename, move, or share the screenshot as needed.

Keep in mind that the keyboard shortcuts may vary slightly depending on the specific Chromebook model or the version of Chrome OS you’re using. If the above shortcuts don’t work for you, you can also try pressing the Ctrl, Alt, and Overview (or square) keys simultaneously.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
